When you confirm your presence on a flight booked by you, it is referred to as online check-in. This process also includes printing the boarding pass on your own as per your convenience. With online check-in, you can avoid long queues at the airport and simply drop your luggage at the security gate and be prepped for boarding. For most of the airlines, the online check-in opens 24 to 48 hours prior to the time of departure and is available for an hour prior to the same. To know more, you can check the online check-in policy for the specific airline on their website.
You can inform Tripcator's travel agent about your preferred seat booking - aisle or window. Most of the airlines let you select the seats on your own during your online check-in process, In a few cases, we will process this request for you and escalate it to the airline. This is not an option for all the routes and there might be an off-chance that you will have to pay an additional charge for your seat. This usually is the case for low-cost airlines.
You can contact our travel advisors or customer care agents on the helpline number mentioned on our website or write to us on info@tripcator.co.uk We are here to make sure that they reach out to you within 24-hours from the time you have raised the request.
When your booking is complete, we will send you an email which entails all the details and your booking status. It mentions if your booking is confirmed or in-progress or declined. Usually, your booking is declined if there are some issues with your payment or transaction.
We take 4 days to issue the e-ticket from the date of receiving the booking confirmation. If your flight is within 7 days of booking, you will receive your e-tickets within 24 hours. In some scenarios, there are unplanned security checks to ensure a 100% safe transaction. If a situation like this arises, we will let you know about the same via an email if this security check fails which may lead to a declined booking.
As a traveller, you are required to have a passport which is valid for a minimum of 6-months after the return dates of your travel. If you are planning to travel to the US, you are required to have a machine-readable passport and an advanced check-in in case the destination requires a separate visa
Most of the airlines have their fixed Baggage Allowance Policy where they specify the capacity, dimension and the number of bags you are allowed to carry. These limits are different for each airline. There is a weight limit for baggage allowed for a particular airline and to know the same, you should check with the airline's policy on their website.
In case of bookings of connecting flights, the airline sends across your baggage to the final destination. In case you are travelling to destinations which are not in the US or Canada, you must collect the baggage at the first point of entry. When you have reached there, you will have to wait at the baggage counter for a transit. In case your connecting flights are of low-cost carriers, you should claim your baggage at every airport you change your airline provider and before booking your next flight.
If the baggage is delayed by the airline you are required to give them 21 days to find and return it to you. During this time, the airline provider covers all your emergency expenditure which is incurred due to the unavailability of the baggage. If they fail to find the baggage, you are eligible to receive compensation for it.
If you fly with baggage that exceeds the free baggage allowance, Tripcator's travel agents can take your baggage request and pass it to the airline. In a case like this, you are required to pay the airline an additional sum for the baggage.
In case you intend to change your travel plan, we give you the option to choose from an alternative date. However, before making a change, we ensure that your ticket allows a change. Even if it does, to process the change you might have to pay a certain amount. In case the change includes rescheduling or modification of routes, the same can be made depending on the availability. However, you must know that budget airlines do not allow us to make changes on the bookings.
In case the airline has allowed making a change, you are supposed to pay us the difference of the fare and may result in a penalty. Additionally, administrative charges are also applicable to it.
